April & May

Taking advantage of the extra days this weekend to do a little catching up.  If I remember April correctly we were a bit smaller group.  Gwen finished her top for Liam's graduation present in record time.

And there was Dianne's latest

Jan has a good start on her next crocheted tote bags.  I believe she said she made 12 of these so far.  And that little pile of blue yarn is Judy's start.  Jan was giving her a tutorial and getting the bottom of the bag going is just a bit tricky.

In May M.A. brought her Dresden rings from the Edyta class at she and Gwen attended.

And her Eagle Scout quilt is ready to be quilted.  Two years of friendship blocks and then some.
We were all happy to see Laura.

Lots of knitting and that sweater may be done in June yet.

Lastly Fran received her celebration quilt.

Catching Up!

Our latest get together was in March - St. Patrick's Day - National Quilting Day - it seem very appropriate.

We did talk quilts and here are the pictures to prove it.  Delivering Friendship blocks, Dianne finishing the binding on the shower gift, and M.A.'s embroidery.

But it was mostly this.

Missing those who were visiting with Mickey and Minnie, parading around downtown, visiting grand babies, and the other events that conflicted.

Jelly Roll Race 2018

This guy set the stage for the weekend.

Many quilts worked on and it didn't catch them all.

And then it was race day, ladies start your machines.

And there was the half-time show.

And everyone went home with a finished quilt top.
Missed You Kathy!

Free at last

Boy was it good to see the Divas this weekend. My little bald head and I were lovingly transported to Syd's by Jan.  I haven't seen them since April of maybe May. Chemo brain, I just don't know. But I heard from them often via facebook and email.  I think the group has had enough of illness and pain and certainly hope it's done with.
One good thing that came out of "conditions" is that Judy learned to knit, and knit beautifully.
Everyone should have a support group like this. In sickness and in health. Laughing all the way.
On to 2018.  Sue will be posting pictures soon.

November

As we gathered around the kitchen table, this is turning out to be our favorite spot, we are thankful for the friendships that have endured the test of time and distance.

There was hand sewing, talking about those who were not there 😉, and laundry.  As careful as I was trying to be, M.A. ending up with a beverage in her lap.  Syd came to the rescue with sweat pants while her jeans went through the washer and dryer.

It also seemed like we had another unintentional pot luck theme going - this month is was carbs.  So with that in mind it was declared the December pot luck theme is brunch.

As always, missing those who were not there and catch up with you in December.

October Happenings

There was a small but enthusiastic bunch of Divas this month.  We learned many things: If you were making a friendship star you would like it to spin this way,

ironing is always easier when the iron is plugged in,

there are many ways to make flying geese,

we were all slightly math challenged that day, some more than others,

and everybody liked beans since almost everyone made something with beans in it.

We had show n tell

Lynn's finished top from the August retreat

M.A.'s table topper

I finished putting together the top I made at the retreat

Waste not, want not for the back
As always, missing the Divas with life events that kept them away.
