Boy was it good to see the Divas this weekend. My little bald head and I were lovingly transported to Syd's by Jan. I haven't seen them since April of maybe May. Chemo brain, I just don't know. But I heard from them often via facebook and email. I think the group has had enough of illness and pain and certainly hope it's done with.
One good thing that came out of "conditions" is that Judy learned to knit, and knit beautifully.
Everyone should have a support group like this. In sickness and in health. Laughing all the way.
On to 2018. Sue will be posting pictures soon.
We are a group of quilters who get together once a month to quilt and play separately/together.

November
As we gathered around the kitchen table, this is turning out to be our favorite spot, we are thankful for the friendships that have endured the test of time and distance.
There was hand sewing, talking about those who were not there 😉, and laundry. As careful as I was trying to be, M.A. ending up with a beverage in her lap. Syd came to the rescue with sweat pants while her jeans went through the washer and dryer.
It also seemed like we had another unintentional pot luck theme going - this month is was carbs. So with that in mind it was declared the December pot luck theme is brunch.
As always, missing those who were not there and catch up with you in December.

October Happenings
There was a small but enthusiastic bunch of Divas this month. We learned many things: If you were making a friendship star you would like it to spin this way,
ironing is always easier when the iron is plugged in,
there are many ways to make flying geese,
we were all slightly math challenged that day, some more than others,
and everybody liked beans since almost everyone made something with beans in it.
We had show n tell

The Retreat Pictures
Since we have a month off while Syd takes care of her Mom, I thought I'd better catch up and post the last of the retreat pictures.
This was Dianne's photo bomb gone bad. Nice recovery though, and it was before the margaritas!
Everyone was very happy to see Lori.
Fran, Judy, Gwen, and M.A. sewing away.
Jan and Syd power sewing.
Everyone's favorite Friday night dinner.
The weather was picture perfect!
Gwen was working on the blocks for her big finish.
And these are the stories that will only get better with the retelling.

Hi Kathy!
Hi Kathy,
We are not having fun without you!
Miss you a lot, get well soon so we can have fun again.
Mary Ann
It is clear that you are the life force of this group ... we miss you!
Lori
Hi Kathy we really miss you! Of all the retreats you had to miss....too bad it was this one. Lots of excitement. You will hear all the stories soon enough. LOL Fran
Hi Kathy,
There are MANY stories from this retreat! You will fell like you were here. They will only get better with retelling.
Until the next one....
Jan
Hello Missing One,
What a quiet group this has been this year, despite all the interesting events that have been happening. it is not as much fun without your input...hope you will be here in January.
Gwen
OK--So it's just not quite right without you here ##(((******$$@@### --lots of weeping and moaning. Many sad faces. You have a lot of catching up to do so get better and get to the next one!! Judy
Well, Kat. You have missed the events that will result in years of stories. We'll fill you in. Your story-telling is definitely missed -- not to mention your sense of humor. Is Mercury retrograde or is it just the eclipse?
I hope you're feeling better and will be here next time. Miss you Lots.
Syd
Lynn, if she didn't have other plans, would have sent her wishes but Syd said it all.
And Dianne, not to be undone by Lynn . . .
The place just isn't the same without you - you are missed!

Where Did July Go?
Here's the July get together before I leave for August.
The previous three pictures are Dianne's interpretation of the Simply Modern cover quilt.
A jelly roll finish, but I forgot who did this one?
Gwen's snowmen
Judy's shawl
Another finish in Dianne's baby quilt series.
And Jan's crocheted basket. Picture doesn't do this one justice. It's really rather neat looking.

It's June
The Diva's gathered around Syd's kitchen table to do a bit of sewing, knitting, and catching-up. A new "tea" recipe was sampled - very yummy.Syd's Shawl |
The Wildwood raffle quilt blocks are assembled and ready for the borders.
Dianne was finishing the binding on another baby quilt. It's been a banner year for babies in her social circle. I didn't catch a picture of the quilt.

May Hiatus & April Catch-Up
With graduations, kids coming home from college, vacations, appointments, and all the stuff around the house, the Divas went on hiatus for the month of May.Here are the few April pictures that I was remiss on posting. If memory serves me correctly we did a lot of catching up around the kitchen table.
