Christmas Catch-Up

A quick post to catch-up before the year ends.

The gathering was festive and fun.  The Long Time Gone books are here for our 2019 quilt along and there's just too many ways to go with the color scheme.  I need to spend a little more time looking at pictures.  Dianne was binding another batik finish in her quest to use up the fabric multiplying in the bins as she sleeps - think Fisher Price people!

Thankful

Almost all of the Divas were in attendance for our Thanksgiving get together.
Judy was working on making pages for her decorative books.  These books are quite amazing with all the detail.
Kathy just found out that she had to rip back on the hat she was knitting.
Syd was hand stitching a blanket stitch around a fleece throw.
Lynn showed off her latest finish.  I believe some of those colorful blocks came from the Friendship group.
Phil was pressed into service and is holding up his end.

 Gwen's finished wall hanging.

A couple pictures around the kitchen table.  I did get many little triangles cut.
Gwen's beautiful table runner.  Somebody is going to be very happy this Christmas.
And no holiday is complete without Judy's special treats!

For the Divas we missed - we talked about you and we are all looking forward to our December dinner with our distant Diva.

Trick or Treat

Just in time for Halloween the Divas got together.  Lots of hand sewing and knitting around the kitchen table.  Gwen put the finishing touches on this Day of the Dead wall hanging for her daughter.

M.A. was on a roll finishing up a wool table runner from many moons ago.  And its looks she will the first one to finish the Crabapple Hill Design kit that all three of us bought.

Syd was making progress on her knitting, but she also had two quilt finishes since the August retreat.  And a head start on the next.

And it wouldn't be a party without Kathy, Judy, and Lynn keeping us laughing.

And missing the Divas that couldn't make it, of course we talked about you!

October gathering

We were missing a few this month as we sat in Syd's sunny kitchen waiting for the big storm that had been promised in the forecast.
We talked and ate and drank. There was much binding going on. Sue, Gwen, MaryAnn at least. Judy and Gwen were up to some sort of thing for nice weather, out door creating.
Judy brought the most fabulous Halloween altered book she had created on her recent journey to TX.
Syd knit but she also had several large finished quilts for show and tell. One was her very first ( maybe the actual first) Friendship quilt from some time in the early 90's. Done is done and it's beautiful. Sue was faithfully taking pictures.
Lynn had some really beautiful patterns to share with us that involved what she called, simple fused strips. Maybe simple for her. I hope she does them as they were fantastic to behold.
Lunch, good and hot.  I wonder if Mary Ann and Susie's mom taught them to cook so well. Very seasonal with Judy making mummy weenies and cookie monster mouths. I for one was really missing Brady because he certainly delighted in and looked forward to these Judy creations.
For an added attraction there was some delightful nun bashing as quite a few members suffered through the same sort of schooling.
I think it's quite wonderful that we all still have so many stories to share, that are fresh, after all these years.
What did I do? I had knitting that I thought about doing.
The promised storm hit as I was getting out of Judy's car, at home. Rain, thunder and hail. Maybe I shouldn't have enjoyed the nun bashing quite so much.
 Until next time.

We're Back!

Kathy said it all.  The Divas were up to their usual mischief and it was great to get everyone back together.  It was especially great to see Lori, who is missed very much, and have Kathy back since it is just way too quiet without her.  Between all the catching up some serious sewing did get done.

 Dianne finished five donation quilts.

"Marie's Scraps" quilt.  Was this one Syd's?

 Lori's Christmas blocks

Progress on the annual Wildwood Quilt Guild Raffle Quilt

 It's now a quilt top.

 Syd's start of something big.

Moon Garden is almost done.  The borders also went on this weekend but I didn't get a picture.  Maybe Lori can post one later.  She slugged away at this labor intensive project with lots of paper piecing on those stars.  Another Diva retreat project.

Everyone's favorite block of the moment.

 Kathy sewing away.

 Syd too.

 And Fran

Progress on Dianne's first and last rag quilt

Lynne's Tula Pink butterfly quilt.  Lots of piecing on this one.

 Judy's work in progress

Mary Ann made progress on the Edyta Dresden quilt.

 Jan's quilt

And yes, you can lay on her quilt!

The rag quilt is together - now to the laundromat!

A fine excuse to eat more M&M's!

 And the dinosaur's roared.

 Awww!

 Sweet

Prudie's quilt?  I think this one was Caren's.

Fran's retreat only project is coming together nicely

 Lori's Bonnie Hunter class project.

The Wildwood quilt is now trimmed, binding on, and ready to be hand sewn to the back.

 My wall hanging making progress.

 Suzanne's really stunning quilt.

 Cute, cuddly Very Hungry Caterpillar.

 Gwen's machine quilting.

The weekend went way too fast and but always fun.

Later!
