Trick or Treat

Just in time for Halloween the Divas got together.  Lots of hand sewing and knitting around the kitchen table.  Gwen put the finishing touches on this Day of the Dead wall hanging for her daughter.

M.A. was on a roll finishing up a wool table runner from many moons ago.  And its looks she will the first one to finish the Crabapple Hill Design kit that all three of us bought.

Syd was making progress on her knitting, but she also had two quilt finishes since the August retreat.  And a head start on the next.

And it wouldn't be a party without Kathy, Judy, and Lynn keeping us laughing.

And missing the Divas that couldn't make it, of course we talked about you!

 Later!

October gathering

We were missing a few this month as we sat in Syd's sunny kitchen waiting for the big storm that had been promised in the forecast.
We talked and ate and drank. There was much binding going on. Sue, Gwen, MaryAnn at least. Judy and Gwen were up to some sort of thing for nice weather, out door creating.
Judy brought the most fabulous Halloween altered book she had created on her recent journey to TX.
Syd knit but she also had several large finished quilts for show and tell. One was her very first ( maybe the actual first) Friendship quilt from some time in the early 90's. Done is done and it's beautiful. Sue was faithfully taking pictures.
Lynn had some really beautiful patterns to share with us that involved what she called, simple fused strips. Maybe simple for her. I hope she does them as they were fantastic to behold.
Lunch, good and hot.  I wonder if Mary Ann and Susie's mom taught them to cook so well. Very seasonal with Judy making mummy weenies and cookie monster mouths. I for one was really missing Brady because he certainly delighted in and looked forward to these Judy creations.
For an added attraction there was some delightful nun bashing as quite a few members suffered through the same sort of schooling.
I think it's quite wonderful that we all still have so many stories to share, that are fresh, after all these years.
What did I do? I had knitting that I thought about doing.
The promised storm hit as I was getting out of Judy's car, at home. Rain, thunder and hail. Maybe I shouldn't have enjoyed the nun bashing quite so much.
 Until next time.
