The Pictures

 Diane & Fran
 Mary Ann & Lynn
 Jan & Kathy
 Gwen & MA
 Laura & Hostess Syd
I don't know how I missed Judy in the pictures but here are the
adorable turtle pin cushions she was working on.
The lovely quilt that Diane was binding.

July Meeting

We met at our original spot thanks to Syd and her girls.  For once the female energy out weighed the male.
Lots of talk on a strangely overcast day. Not too hot but with the treat of rain.
Judy worked on her delightful animal pincushions, Dianne bound a quilt. Susie was doing red work embroidery. Fran was using her computer to find a design good for a large collection of plaids. Syd and Laura pow wowed about long arm quilting perhaps? Mary Ann, Gwen and Lynn discussed plans for the Diva retreat and Jan bounced in fresh from yoga.
Syd had plenty of space for us to use on two levels but like the dogs, we stayed on top of each other in one room.
Susie will be adding pictures at some point and this text should go along with those although who knows.

June Photos

Here are a few photos from our June meeting.

Lynn had a beautiful batik top.

Ruth brought this lovely scrappy top.

Kathy made a very appropriate going away quilt for Brady, using his favorite theme fabrics (candy!).

Of course, we had to get one final group shot before we close this chapter.

We also managed to get this shot with Mrs. O.

We are going to miss this house and this group terribly.  I've started up a new blog that will be a mix of life events and sewing.  I'll link in any sewing related stuff here.  Stay tuned for some of my sewing room renovation photos.

See you in August!

June Meeting

The last hurrah of our club house.
We were all there including Kathy's sister Margie who has attended off and on and even before some of the more regular members. She lives out of town but wanted to see Lori,Brady and Sherman before they go west. Like the elves who never come back. Into the sunset, the end of the technicolor movie, roll credits, cry.
I don't like change. Not one little bit and am too old to have friends move away. Not quite so old that  we have started to drop dead yet but you know.  I have know Lori for 25 years at least.
So, we met, talked, laughed, ate, drank and hauled her unwanted belongings to our cars like so many vultures.( but with classy stuff)
Someone will put up actual pictures. Me, I put up these words.
Lori constructed this space with us in mind. Who does that? Someone you don't want to move away, that's who. We have watched Brady grow and will miss that. I suspect he will miss the "friends" that descended on his house with the full moon every month.
Syd had graciously offered to let us use the original basement of our name. I don't think we can all sew at the same time but that was rare anyway.
I felt sadness when Candy went south and now it looks as if Lynnee might be leaving us as well but there is a block of time before that.
Life moves on. People come back for visits but gosh,it has been a golden time.

May Meeting

We had a small but mighty group for May.  Most of the Divas present are in this shot.  What an engaged group!

Lynn and Mary Ann brought the same pattern and kit.  What are the odds????

Lynn also brought this cool bag that she'd worked on at home.

I believe Judy was experimenting with pin cushions.

Here is a prototype of a fish design she did.  Cute!

Mary Ann was in the spirit of this month's bag theme.  I don't recall the specific pattern but it is one of the types where the insert is buttoned-in and can be swapped out.

Lunch was quiet due to our small numbers.  Several Divas took a small table home with them.  I have more things to purge next month including our collaborative quilt WIP box.  Hope to see you then!

April Charity Sewing

In April, a group of Divas spent the usual meeting date at a charity quilt sew-in for Wildwood.

We event got a few things closer to finished.  Here's Jan's piece all layered up.  Mary Ann seems to approve ... or is she goofing off?

Kathy was working on this bright panel.  The piecing will be added next.

Here's Mary Ann's piece.  You can tell she has experience working on this type of a project.

I made two of these from the Halloween stash. It had to be simple so I'd have hopes of getting them done while I am still in town.

There were doughnuts too ... and lots of laughter.

April photo ops

Here are a few photos from our April meeting.

I'm always impressed how industrious you all are!

Here is Dianne's prototype apron with a few parts laid out and/or basted.

This is Judy and Kathy's gift basket bag. Judy very skillfully put this together from a larger bag.

Here is the lovely knit that Kathy made for Lynn.

I couldn't help interrupting my conversation with Lynn to take this shot.  Sherman was downright captivated.

This is Judy's lovely Easter centerpiece that Brady continues to appreciate.  I'd say that Peeps are for kids but there really not for anyone ... :-).
