I will refrain from complaining about the weather, again. I was happy that we had a nice weather day for our March meeting. I had several mini-panics all day when I would remember ... take a picture for Ruth! Rest assured, we talked about everyone who was unable to join us. I'll keep this brief but add in a few photos to enhance Kathy's narrative.
Several of us took advantage of the fact that Gwen was here to explain the tricky part of this year's Wildwood raffle blocks. I didn't get mine finished but I got beyond the one cut that I didn't understand. Jan made two blocks, one shown below and another that I didn't get a photo of.
Mary Ann made one too.
Judy made a cute bag intended for a lucky little girl. She also made a Wildwood block. She and I had identical fabrics so imagine there is another one just like it.
.
I didn't get an action shot of Fran sewing but she put together a scrappy backing fabric for her red jelly roll quilt (I believe it was last year's).
Here's a shot of Jan working on her Wildwood blocks and others socializing and gaming.
Gwen brought the storefront blocks she's collected so far. So cute and imaginative!
She was also working on her Bargellographix from a few years ago.
My action photo of Susie wasn't that great so you'll have to settle for her foot. She was binding this quilt for her grandson.
I have my sample MEH challenge block so that is one less excuse for me to begin. I am determined to use a vintage piece of muckled background fabric I have so I wanted to be sure my math was right ... and it wasn't .... so this was a worthy exercise.
Brady was busy with video games and this Melissa & Doug stickers by the number sort of puzzle that he started the night before. He was pretty proud of it.
Lunch and snacks were great, as usual. By the way, rum is always available. Add it to your smoothie, your coffee, or just drink it out of the bottle if it is a bad day. We're all friends here.
I could have sworn that I got a shot of Judy's dessert tray but, apparently not. I did manage to catch one of Jan's salad before we tore into it. She has a way with green.
We all managed to squeeze into the dining room. Even Sherman had to get into this shot.
As Kathy mentioned, our next regularly scheduled date is the day before Easter so we decided to move next month to 4/12. Hope to see you then!
Great post. I am sorry to have missed it but with all the photos I don't feel so left out. I think Brady's puzzle looks like an inspiration for a quilt. I like the Wildwood blocks. I am happy to see Gwen's Friendship blocks as I missed that meeting too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lori and Kathy for posting.
I, too, loved seeing all the Divas at work!!! What a great way to celebrate National quilting Day!!! Dianne
