March marched in and so we gathered. I don't really know too much about what
was going on because I was occupied with Brady and his narration of his game and
chasing about with Sherman ( Houdini). I don't know how I got up off the
floor.
No Laura, no Ruth and no Dianne. They were missed.
Sue seemed to be binding a Super quilt she started in Amishland. Jan, Gwen, and Mary Ann were working through blocks for the Wildwood raffle quilt. Judy, bless her heart, was quilting her Mary Ellen Hopkins project. Syd picked out what she was going to make for that and finished a beautiful knitted scarf. Lori had her Mary Ellen project in the sample block stage and a big pile of fantastic fabric ready to start the real thing. Honestly, who does practice blocks anyway. Oh yes, the people who don't enjoy piles of pieces that don't go with anything. (Note to self, learn how to do this)
Fran, pretty in coral (orange) for St Patty's day. Buddy, I know you had your machine and a project but what the heck were you working on? Lynn brought breakfast goodies and stories. I actually did work on a knitted Log Cabin afghan, weaving in ends of yarn. You NEED company for this kind of soul sucking work. There also was a fascinating discussion of tones and tints with the aide of the Joan Wolfram tool. Some of us are involved in a color challenge.
Mike and Lori, who are young and can see by looking at some of us (me) are trying to avoid the decrepidness that comes with old age and are eating healthy. Mike prepared what looked like wonderful fruit smoothies that most of the Diva enjoyed. There was no rum in them so Lynn and i declined, respectfully.
Lunch, fantastic as usual. Judy created the centerpiece dessert. I wonder if it's all those years as a teacher that makes her enjoy making those special things as much as she does.
More chatting, more laughing. Judy did the dishes alone as Dianne was MIA. Brady was left with a good haul of goodies for his his lunch box.
There was a lot of yelling, during the meeting, about "Take a picture of this for Ruth". They will be posted eventually.
We left in time for the Maxwell family to prepare for Sherman's play date.
There was no rap up meeting but some talk of moving the meeting to the 2nd weekend in April.
I am looking forward to the photos.
You know, it was national Quilting Day. It's not the sewing, the patterns, the fabric or thread . It's the people you find yourself among. The journey is the thing. The companions are the most important part.
